“I really want to date someone for a very long time (multiple years, maybe like 5 at this point) before I get engaged. But then after I am engaged I can’t see waiting more than a year and a half to actually get married because you’ve already said this is happening. Or maybe I won’t get engaged at all and just be like “Hey, want to get married next week?” because that’s more my style.”
I’m pretty much just like you. But, I’m pretty scared of marriage, so I’d either probably stretch out a long engagement too, or just run off one day and end up married. I do think its smart to date for quite a while, and at least through a year’s worth of seasons. I sometimes wonder if my mom had waited longer than 2 years to marry her current husband, maybe she wouldn’t have gone through with it. I feel like some people can be normal for quite a while before it shows that they are crazy. But I’m a nervous nelly whose been dating for over 5 years and still can’t pull the trigger, so maybe don’t listen to me
